STAVRO

IMG_3151.JPG

Bio

Stavro is an alt-rock singer-songwriter hailing from Omaha, Nebraska's storied indie scene. His new single, "New Year Rushing," is a hushed but assured ode to ends and beginnings. Lyrics like "New Year rushes in on me, I welcome it / Ready now to face things that have never been" and whirring synths and pedal steel guitar herald what's to come like a city waking before dawn. It plays like a new-age hymn to the unknown.

Every record in Stavro's discography has been produced by genre veteran Ben Brodin at the esteemed ARC Studios
, the internationally sought-after recording studio which has welcomed artists like Jason Mraz, Phoebe Bridgers, Bright Eyes and She & Him.

Stavros Piperis on His Greek-American Album

OMAHA, NE – Greek-American singer-songwriter Stavros Piperis is releasing his new album, Akoma: Songs for Greek America, on Friday, December 11. The 23-year old Piperis, who turns 24 in February, spoke with TNH about his life and music.

Stavro: Taking 'Chances' On His Own Terms

"After graduation, Stavros Piperis, BC ’19 was sure of one thing—he had a collection of music memorializing his college years, and he wanted to turn those into professional recordings. Even if the songs weren’t heard by anyone but him, he wanted to make sure he heard them in their best possible form. For most, a professional recording is a lofty goal—but some, like Piperis, have the determination to see it through."

Stavros Piperis Discusses ‘Sing It to the Heights’ Win

"Stavros Piperis, MCAS ’19, took the stage in front of three Jesuit judges and a packed Robsham Theater on the evening of March 1 with two things on his mind: the lyrics to Zac Brown Band’s 'Colder Weather' and the make-it-or-break-it importance of the loop pedal beside his foot."
